A few months ago, I came across social media call from Tebbs Contemporary Gallery, for a collage project. Although this sounded like a total con, it also provided me with the perfect opportunity to kick start my creativity after this very long slump.
The call required one to purchase a collage pack to work from, get inspired by, use or not use, at the cost of £20. Each pack is different. The artwork could be physical or digital and the project has very clear deadlines. The artwork was to be featured in a publication, and online exhibition, and 20% of the proceeds will go to the cats protection charity.
Fastforward 6 months and the exhibition, book publication or acknowledgement of my entry never manifested, but at least I saw through the work.
“Peace, Love and Happiness”
A series of three pieces serving as a personal reflection on the current global situation. It explores how collective actions are often suppressed, obscured, or erased by forces determined to silence them. I aimed to juxtapose the energy of protest and symbols of resistance with the unsettling stillness of dominance, avoidance, and erasure through glamourised propaganda.
